Bike to School Week
Students who ride their bikes to and from school help to improve air quality, reduce traffic congestion and increase their level of physical activity. Last year, more than 1,000 youth participated in the Green Action Centre’s Bike to School week sponsored by Tire Stewardship Manitoba. See how your school can play a role in this year’s event.
Be Tire Smart
A joint initiative between Tire and Rubber Association of Canada and Natural Resources Canada, the Be Tire Smart campaign educates the public on the relationship between improper tire inflation and its impact on car emissions and fuel costs. Learn more about the campaign at BeTireSmart.ca.
TSM Scholarship in Environmental Sciences
TSM provides Brandon University, University of Manitoba and University of Winnipeg each a $3,000 scholarship to award to a deserving student in Environmental Science. Additional information is available by contacting these post-secondary institutions.
Want to recycle other products in Manitoba? Quite simply, recycling protects our natural resources, saves landfill space, conserves energy, and reduces water and air pollution as well as the greenhouse gas emissions that cause global warming. For these reasons and more, TSM has joined with other product stewardship organizations to make it easy for consumers to find safe and responsible ways to dispose of products and packaging that is no longer useful.
